The diary (59 leaves) describes Christy's travels in India after he resigned his civil medical appointment at Satara on 26 June, and while he was seeking other work. He visited Bombay, Agra, Simla, Lahore and Quetta. It also includes 11 pages of clinical notes.

Mr and Mrs Fowler's invitations to banquets and other social occasions in India, with menus and table plans of these events. Most of the items relate to the banquet given by Maharaj Kumar of Vizianagram in honour of Sir Malcolm Hailey, Governor of the U.P., and Lady Hailey, at Benares on 11 January 1934, and the state banquet given by the Maharajah of Benares in honour of the Viceroy and Lady Willington at the Mint House on 16 January 1934.
