The Circular Quay, Sydney, 1911
A view of the curving road at the south side of the quay looking west, with trams and pedestrians. Wharves and shipping (not visible) are to the right of the picture. On the right can be seen notices advertising the ferry services to various of the pleasure spots - 'Mossman Bay - Fare 2d.', 'Neutral Bay - Fare 2d.', 'Manly Beach', etc.
The City Hotel, Sandhurst, 1875
178 x 123 mm. An exterior view of the hotel, a narrow stone building with iron-work verandahs on the first floor. A horse carriage stands in front of the hotel which was built in 1872, at the height of the Bendigo building boom, and is situated at Charing Cross, just beyond Pall Mall.

Collection of professional photographs, each 90 x 70 mm, published for the Yass Newsagency by the Valentine Publishing Co. Pty. Ltd., Sydney and Melbourne. Yass is 43 miles north of Canberra. Its population in 1947 was 3254.

The Dyke, Newcastle, 1908
A view of the wharves, with moored shipping and railway trucks loaded with coal running up to the ships' sides. The dyke is situated in the middle of Newcastle harbour at Carrington, and contains the main coal exporting wharves.

Facing p.18, referred to on p.15. William Pery, 5th Earl of Limerick (1840-1896) was born in Norfolk Island on 17 June 1840, where his father, later the 4th Earl, was a magistrate.

Nothing is known of the provenance of this collection of lantern slides and glass plates. The images likely were created to illustrate lectures given at the RCS.

355 x 280 mm. A view looking up at the rear of the building, with the book-stack to the left. 'The book stack, ... is seven stories in height ... The interior fittings of the stack, lift and staircase are wholly of steel, its floors of thick translucent plate glass, and when the heavy fireproof door is closed the Library is considered to be absolutely fireproof.' (Dallen, 1914, page not recorded).
