Scope and Contents From the Sub-Fonds: Fifty-three undated watercolours intended as bookmarks, each 200 x 45 mm in size, sold by John Sands of Sydney as indicated by stickers pasted onto the reverse. The images are of birds, with the exception of two koala bears, two kangaroos and one opossum. The vast majority are the work of three authors, signed Artah, M. Simpson and Koddi. Artah is Violet Artah Bartlett, an artist specialising in Australian ornithology who worked in Sydney during the 1920s. It has proved impossible as yet...

The hospital, originally known as the Catherine Hayes Hospital and now named the Prince of Wales Hospital, was designed by Edmund Blacket in the mid-1860s. Archives relating to a mission to South Africa, Rhodesia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada undertaken by Sir Henry Rider Haggard on behalf of the RCI to investigate possibilities of post WWI settlement of ex-servicemen. Haggard's report was published as 'The After-War Settlement & Employment of Ex-Service Men in the Overseas Dominions' in 1916.

A collection of photographs of the wreck of the German Cruiser 'Emden', sunk by HMAS 'Sydney' whilst attacking the Cocos-Keeling Islands on 9 November 1914.

These photographs were extracted from the file in the RCS Archives on 'The Empire at War', edited for the Royal Empire Society by Sir Charles Lucas. References appear in volume III at pages 29, 76, 78, 212-3 and 223.
