Public School, Grote Street, Adelaide, 1890
260 x 200 mm. A three-quarters front view of the single-storey stone building, built in the Gothic style with a central fleche. The school is situated on the South-East corner of Grote Street and Morphett Street, and was built in 1874. With school children standing outside the gate.

190 x 140 mm. A view of the building from the junction of Macquarie Street and Bridge Street. Another building designed by James Barnet (in 1878), it is an imposing structure with statues in recesses at the corner, and was originally the Colonial Secretary's Office.

235 x 185 mm. A view of the street showing numerous pony traps and a stage coach on the right. This end of the street shows the tram lines, with a horse-drawn tram at the crown of the hill. Queen Street was the first thoroughfare in Brisbane to have tramways; the work was started in January 1885 and opened for general on traffic 12th August.
