Photographs 3, 4 and 5 form an overlapping panorama of Fort Hill (although taken at different times: a hut is present on the foreshore in Y3083A/3 but not in Y3083A/4).

Album containing nine coloured (180 x 130 mm) and one black and white (205 x 135 mm) photographs of the Port of Brisbane, with printed captions. The album, which is not full, is a Saga self-adhesive album made in Japan. The first page reproduces the Charter and the Coat of Arms, with description (all in colour). The second page sets out brief facts about the Port's involvement in coal exports.

265 x 204 mm. A view looking along the railway lines which run down to the wharves, with the harbour and Nobby’s Head beyond. By the dockside is a raised track and machinery for loading coal with the masts of berthed ships visible behind.
Port of Newcastle Nobby’s, 1870 - 1880
242 x 192 mm. A view looking out over the roofs of the town towards Nobby’s Head, with shipping in the harbour and moored to wharves. Nobby’s Head was originally an island (first mentioned in Captain Cook’s log for May 1770), the breakwater being constructed between 1818 and 1846. The lighthouse, built in 1857, can just be seen: previously the island had served first as a convict labour camp and then as a quarantine station.

A portrait of William Haines 'from a daguerreotype by T.A. Hill' and a description of his life in public service. The page is undated, but refers to Haines occupying the Legislative Assembly seat for South Grant in the new Parliament, which he held 1856-1858.

195 x 130 mm. The same building as photographed in Y3085C/10, but with an identical extension on the right of the picture, built in the intervening period. With a horse and cart in front of the building.
Post Office, 1870 - 1880
181 x 131 mm. A view of the Post Office, which stands at the junction of Elizabeth and Bourke Street. Built between 1859-1867, the building is seen here without the third storey and enlarged clocktower which were completed in 1889.
