Views in Ootacamund [i.e. Udagamandalam] and the Nilgiris
A collection consisting of a panorama (5 joined prints) and loose prints, measuring approximately 280 x 210 mm. The prints are captioned (probably in Penn's hand) on the reverse. Prints 1 and 2 are also rubberstamped 'A.T.W. Penn, Reliance, Ootacamund'. This refers to the Reliance Auction and Commission Agency run by Penn in the early years of the twentieth century.

Prints of various sizes, by various unknown photographers, captioned on the reverse. The prints show views in Batavia (Jakarta), Surabaya, Semerang and Padang. The photographs appear to have come from various sources, prints 1-15 being captioned in one hand, prints 16-24 in another.

An album containing albumen prints by a number of photographers, including W.L.H. Skeen and Co., Joseph Lawton, and Colombo Apothecaries Company.
This is an important collection whose subjects include the Colombo-Kandy railway construction; archaeological views of Polonnaruwa and Anaradhapura; the tea industry; views of Colombo; and Perahera celebrations, Kandy. There are also 11 photographs of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Kandy in 1897.

A collection of loose prints measuring approximately 165 x 120 mm. The prints are captioned in pencil on the reverse. The collection consists of two identical sets of six views (each set containing three views of Hanoi and three of Haiphong). The photographs from each location may be by different photographers.

A collection of loose albumen prints. These topographical views cover Hong Kong, the Chinese Treaty ports (a good selection of material from Shanghai) and Japan. Many of the Japanese prints are hand-coloured. It appears in the Supplement to the Library Catalogue published in 1901.
