Contains slides mainly in thick plastic frames marked 'Photopia', made in Germany, dark grey with a red top. The exceptions are numbers 72-75 in Kodachrome cardboard frames which link up with C and numbers 37-38 and 99-103 which are in silver Sytec frames. Some of the frames have brief captions pencilled on them, but these are very hard to read. Others have labels stuck on. A roughly written numbered list was in the original box. Collection of black and white press agency and official photographs (including 5 duplicates) relating to developments during 1965-80, from the time of Rhodesia's unilateral declaration of Independence (UDI) until the emergence of the republic of Zimbabwe. Many were collected to illustrate articles in 'Commonwealth in Focus', and some were reproduced in the 'Commonwealth in Focus' exhibition 1982. The captions have been used as titles and have been recorded as found.

This lighthouse stands on a hill 245 feet above sea level and is itself 117 feet high. A caption on the face of the print reads: '4712-12. Framed by the white-washed roof and chimney of a typical Bermuda farmhouse is Gibb's Hill Lighthouse, highest point in Bermuda. From the observation platform, one commands a superb view of the entire western end of the colony. Bermuda News Bureau, 620 Fifth Avenue, N. Y. Columbus 5-3965. Hamilton, Bermuda, Cable 'Newsbur''.

From the Series:
Frome created a series of sketchbooks of various formats during his travels. Numbers 1 (Canada) and 4-5 (Mauritius) were missing when the collection came to Cambridge. The RCS sold numbers 2-3 (Australia) to the Art Gallery of South Australia in 1970. Numbers 6-7 and 11 had never been presented to the society. The great majority of the contents of the seven sketchbooks listed below had been removed in London, leaving only a few rough pieces.
