Letter from WSC (29 & 30 Brunswick Road, Brighton [Hove, East Sussex]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] asking for a postal order of 10 shillings, relating the success of the second run of the school play and discussing arrangements for his return (which include a maid being turned out of his room).

Letter from [George Cornwallis-West] (Chick Castle, North Wales) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he discusses a letter he has received from Louis' [his chauffeur] mother and says that he is looking forward to seeing her.

Letter from [George Cornwallis-West] (Ruthin Castle, North Wales) to "Missie" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he describes a motor car journey and reports that the tenants are anxious to meet her and that his chauffeur, Louis, has decided to stay.

Letter from [George Cornwallis-West] (The Plas, Tan y Bwlch, North Wales) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he says that he has been in a "furious rage" due to the incompetence of Frederick, a servant and that he hopes that she is working on her article.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Muckross Abbey, Killarney [County Kerry, Ireland]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] asking her to send him his bankers' book. He describes himself as "wretched" because Howard [his footman] has not brought his cigarettes and informs her that he has given him notice.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Turf Club, Piccadilly [London]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] including: arrangements for a loan and opening a bank account in her name; emphasis that they should be economical; the engagement of a new footman; enquiries about whether she had been introduced to the Crown Prince of Austria and speculations on the likelihood of war.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (St James' Club, Piccadilly [London]) to [Jennie Jerome, later Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he says that he scolded her for going out due to concern for her health, informs her that he has signed an agreement [to rent a house in] Curzon Street [London], discusses the appointment of servants and House of Commons business.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Cliffe, Beleek [County Mayo, Ireland]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] including reference to difficulties with the servants at Little Lodge [Dublin] and requesting that she ask Howard [his footman] to write for his knife which has been left behind.

Letter from WSC (Nawagai [West Pakistan, now Pakistan] on the notepaper of the 4th Hussars) to "Reggie", Sir Reginald Barnes, in which he describes the action in which he has been involved [with the Malakand Field Force], comments on his servant's composure, describes the effect of night firing, the progress of the war, the attitude of the natives and the cruelty of the British and speculates on the effect which his letters to the D[aily] T[elegraph] will have on the Indian government.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Newburgh Priory, Easingwold, Yorkshire) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] including a description of his preparations for a speech he is to deliver in Whitby [Yorkshire], the names of those who will attend the party, who include [6th Duke of] Portland and Castlereagh [6th Lord Londonderry], the likelihood that he will have to speak at an agricultural show at Easingwold and arrangements for Edward to be appointed as footman.

Letter from WSC (General's House, Cairo [Egypt]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] including his shock at the death of [George] Scrivings from choleric diarrhoea, his sense of loss and intention to make arrangements for Scrivings' wife, and discussion of "Jack's" [John S Churchill] marriage.
