Letter from [George Cornwallis-West] (Chick Castle, North Wales) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he discusses a letter he has received from Louis' [his chauffeur] mother and says that he is looking forward to seeing her.

Letter from [George Cornwallis-West] (Ruthin Castle, North Wales) to "Missie" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he describes a motor car journey and reports that the tenants are anxious to meet her and that his chauffeur, Louis, has decided to stay.

Letter from [George Cornwallis-West] (The Plas, Tan y Bwlch, North Wales) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he says that he has been in a "furious rage" due to the incompetence of Frederick, a servant and that he hopes that she is working on her article.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (St James' Club, Piccadilly [London]) to [Jennie Jerome, later Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he says that he scolded her for going out due to concern for her health, informs her that he has signed an agreement [to rent a house in] Curzon Street [London], discusses the appointment of servants and House of Commons business.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (36 Piccadilly [London]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he speaks of his sore throat, asks her to write a recommendation for "Kate" and says that he hopes she has answered a letter from MacKenzie Greaves for him.

Letter from [Clara Jerome] (18 Chapel Street, Park Lane [London]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] including: the date of her sea crossing to the United States; her hope that [Lady Randolph] will benefit from taking the waters; discussion of London society; praise for Elizabeth Everest; and discussion of "Jack's" [John S Churchill] recent illness and message to WSC.

Letter from WSC (Nawagai [West Pakistan, now Pakistan] on the notepaper of the 4th Hussars) to "Reggie", Sir Reginald Barnes, in which he describes the action in which he has been involved [with the Malakand Field Force], comments on his servant's composure, describes the effect of night firing, the progress of the war, the attitude of the natives and the cruelty of the British and speculates on the effect which his letters to the D[aily] T[elegraph] will have on the Indian government.

Letter from WSC (4th Hussars [Bangalore] India) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he discusses his progress with his book ["The River War"] which he says "grows in bitterness about [Sir Herbert] K[itchener]", arrangements for the serialisation of his novel ["Savrola"], financial affairs and their future poverty, the death of the wife and mother of Jacob [his servant] as a result of a plague and asks about the date of a meeting at the Albert Hall.

Letter from WSC (Canford Manor, Wimborne [Dorset]) to Mrs George Cornwallis-West [formerly Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he reports that Cornelia [Lady Wimborne, formerly Lady Guest and Lady Cornelia Churchill] has provided useful material about [Lord Randolph Churchill] for his biography. He asks whether Miss [Annette] Anning might be able to help him with correspondence. Signed typescript.

He describes himself as "wretched" because Howard [his footman] has not brought his cigarettes and informs her that he has given him notice.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Turf Club, Piccadilly [London]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] including: arrangements for a loan and opening a bank account in her name; emphasis that they should be economical; the engagement of a new footman; enquiries about whether she had been introduced to the Crown Prince of Austria and speculations on the likelihood of war.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (House of Commons) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] asking her to instruct [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough] to invite George Tyrrell, the agent for the Conservative Party in Ireland, to dinner and discussing the effect of a vote in the House of Commons and the absence of the Ulster Conservatives who "have virtually broken their election pledges". He also instructs her to make arrangements for the arrival of a new footman and a house which he has seen.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Cliffe, Beleek [County Mayo, Ireland]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] including reference to difficulties with the servants at Little Lodge [Dublin] and requesting that she ask Howard [his footman] to write for his knife which has been left behind.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (2 Connaught Place [London]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he discusses financial difficulties and issues relating to domestic servants and reports that [Albert Edward, Prince of Wales] has invited him to dinner to meet "Harry" [Henry] Chaplin.

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Banstead Manor, Newmarket [Suffolk]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] reporting that [WSC and John S Churchill] have been good and that WSC rides well. He also relates his anger about arrangements for racing [his racehorse] Inverness and that WSC has made friends with the servants and is "full of local gossip".

Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Pretoria [South Africa]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he describes his journey, anticipates that his letters to the Daily Graphic will anger the Boers, and praises Gwynydd [Williams] as a secretary and discusses [Lady Randolph's] activities in London.
