Scope and Contents From the File:

Contains slides showing scenes in the house and gardens of John Ewart Marnham's residence just outside Castries. They include slides of the very attractive views from the garden and a series of aerial views taken at varying heights in May 1972. This section concludes with photographs of members of the domestic staff taken just before Marnham left St Lucia (dated Oct 72 nos 18-25). Slides have been renumbered but arrangement in the file remains as per the original typescript catalogue.

Scope and Contents

In 1962 an informal dining discussion group was formed and in Nov. was instituted as the Commonwealth Purpose Group. It was associated with the 'Commonwealth in Principle and Practice' symposium and played a leading role in the conference held by the RCS on 22 June 1964. This collection of minutes, correspondence and reports belonged to the group's chairman C. E. Carrington.

Numbers 103, 105, 108, 111, 116, 212, 318, 406, 503, 504 and 519 are listed as missing with no attempt to catalogue them as they contain no further details.

The volume comprises society membership lists (front and rear) which are annotated with term and home address, committee positions held and dates of death; and, in the main part of the volume, records meetings of the group. Each entry details the date and location of meeting, the names of those in attendance and gives what may be a score for an unidentified game played between opposing teams from each of the universities.
