Typescript of reminiscences copiously annotated, evidently for intended publication, in ink (black and green), in biro, in blue crayon and in pencil. Many passages struck through. The annotations decrease in frequency from the earliest to the latest pages, and those in green ink are perhaps in a hand other than Sams'.
Originally in four ring binders, continuously paginated.

A journal giving a brief description of Canton and information on Chinese weights and measures. It gives information on the cargo of the ship 'Alert' on its voyage to China and gives a description of Coverly's voyage from Boston, Massachusetts to England and return to Boston.

Journal of eleven journies from Braintree to Cambridge. There is a later addition on fo. 1 to 'Dr Woodward', but this is erroneous. The journal, on fos 1-43, is followed on fo. 48 by miscellaneous notes, and on fos 50-87, 92-107, by copies of monumental inscriptions in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire, taken mostly from Le Neve's Monumenta Anglicana.

Samuel Knight: Notes on Cambridgeshire churches
With drafts of his lives of Erasmus and John Colet. The book was formerly used by an unidentified 17th cent. divine to draft sermons. Among the notes (fos 60-2) are copies of the wills of John Sixtin (24 Mar. 1518), John Yonge (25 Apr 1516), Andrew Ammonius (17 Aug. 1517), and William Lychefeld (2 Nov. 1517).
Samuel Minnis: History of Bourn, Cambridgeshire
A typescript history of the village of Bourn, Cambridgeshire, 'edited by Mr A.B. Jeffries from materials kept by the late S.E. Minnis', 166 pages. There is a table of contents at the start of the first volume. At the beginning of the second volume is an aerial photograph of Bourn and an index. After the history in the second volume is an editor's note, followed by further pieces by Minnis on the later history of Bourn. This volume also includes two loose typescripts on the village.
