Correspondence re C.Y. Tung, 1959-1971
Scope and Contents
Correspondence and related papers regarding Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd's business with C.Y. Tung of Associated Maritime Industries Inc. and the Island Navigation Corporation, ship agents and ship brokers. Much of the material concerns the chartering of a new tanker ('Energy Evolution') by C.Y. Tung's group to B.P. for a period of 15 years. The tanker was built by the Sasebo Heavy Industries Co. Ltd in Japan, with Matheson (Chartering) Ltd acting as C.Y. Tung's broker. The correspondence is comprised of originals and copies of letters to Matheson & Co. Ltd and copies of other letters.
