Scope and Contents
Correspondence and related papers regarding the discussions leading to the appointment of Henry Keswick as Senior Managing Director of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, following the retirement of M.A.R. Herries in June 1970, and the appointment of D.K. Newbigging as a Managing Director. The series contains correspondence of J.H. Keswick and W.J. Keswick, Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, with M.A.R. Herries, institutional shareholders of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd and other correspondents, comprised of originals and copies of letters to the Keswicks and copies of letters from them, and related papers. There is some overlap between the dates and contents of the two files.
