Scope and Contents

Correspondence of Matheson & Co. Ltd regarding the C.H. Ross Trust and the Trust established by Colin Henderson Ross for his widow Mrs Hartford, with related letters and papers, including Trust accounts and information about possible investments. There is also some material regarding the Mrs C.G. Ross Trust, established by Colin George Ross, father of C.H. Ross, for his widow Amy Marian Ross (C.H. Ross's stepmother). The main correspondent is Macrae, Flett & Rennie, W.S., Edinburgh, Agents for C.H. Ross's Trustees. The other correspondents include the Executors of C.H. Ross's Estate and Trust: his cousin Major John A. Ross (Ian Ross), D.G.M. Bernard (of Matheson & Co. Ltd), Edmund Piercy Bernard (D.G.M. and Mrs Hartford's brother) and David Landale (of Matheson & Co. Ltd).
