Menzies Hotel, Melbourne, 1885 - 1901

Scope and Contents

200 x 149 mm. A view of the hotel which stands on the junction between William Street and Bourke Street, with a tower, in renaissance style, at one corner. Opened in 1867, the hotel was built by David Mitchell, father of Dame Nellie Melba. For an earlier view of the building when it looked considerably different, see Y308B1/55.
