St Patrick’s Cathedral, 1885 - 1901
Scope and Contents
200 x 147 mm. An exterior view of the cathedral, a fine product of the Gothic revival in Australia, situated on Eastern Hill facing down Gisborne Street, and designed in 1860 by William Wardell, who had earlier been a pupil of Pugin. The nave was in use by 1869, but the building was not consecrated as a cathedral until 1897.
