General Correspondence, 1975 - 1983
Scope and Contents
A box containing a bundle of letters, received by Roger Law and Peter Fluck, as part of their professional activities as the partnership, Luck & Flaw. There are also a few copies of letters sent by the partnership. The letters in 1975 straddle the line between Law working by himself and collaborating with Fluck. The years 1982 and 1983 are also a transitional period, when the partnership's activities morph into the wider work of Spitting Image Productions Limited.
The topics found in these letters include, but are not limited to: the illustration jobs undertaken by the partnership for various magazine and newspaper publications, including National Lampoon, The New York Times Magazine, Private Eye, and Sanity; requests for examples of their output to be displayed as part of exhibitions; Tony Hendra's work at National Lampoon, and details about his personal life; requests for employment from artists and students; requests from a number of schools and colleges for Luck & Flaw to provide lectures and seminars; and the initial activity surrounding Spitting Image.
