Scope and Contents

Five issues of the British newspaper supplement, The Observer Magazine. The following issues are present:

1. 19 February 1984 - pages 20 and 21 contain an article on the upcoming first series of Spitting Image, accompanied by a photograph of Roger Law and Peter Fluck, who are buried amongst puppet heads.

2. 16 February 1986 - pages 50 to 55 contain an article on male friendships, which includes an interview with Law and Fluck, accompanied by a photograph of the pair.

3. 20 April 1986 - the front cover has a photographic illustration containing Spitting Image puppets of American football player William Perry, actor Jack Nicholson, and another individual. Pages 22 and 23 feature a short article, accompanied by images, on the upcoming first Spitting Image American special episode, Down and Out in the White House (SI/755).

4. 16 November 1987 - the front cover has a photographic illustration containing Spitting Image puppets of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, relating to their 40th wedding anniversary (SI/507).

5. 10 July 1988 - pages 32 to 37 contain an article on British television presenter, Muriel Gray, accompanied by 14 portraits of her by various artists, one of which is a puppet by the Spitting Image Workshop (SI/152 (a)).
