Scope and Contents

A large portfolio containing a number of advertisements/posters for a variety of companies and organisations, which feature Luck & Flaw plasticine model illustrations and other work by the partnership. Also found within this portfolio are large photographs with illustrations, and photographic proofs for Clouded Tiger Cards postcards.

The following are present:

1. An advertisement proof for the Dutch advertising company, PPGH/Moussault, which has a representation of John Cleese (L&F/7(h)).

2. Two copies of a poster for the radio station, Piccadilly Radio 261, which feature representations of the British politicians, David Steel and Roy Jenkins (L&F/124). One of the posters is mounted on plastic, the other poster is not.

3. A mounted Smirnoff Vodka poster, which features Roger Law dressed as a frog in a tuxedo, while being kissed by a woman (L&F/155).

4. A poster for the magazine, New Socialist, which features a representation of British politician, Roy Jenkins, depicted as a wine waiter (L&F/158).

5. A poster for the Peace Advertising Campaign, which features British politicians, Francis Pym and Geoffrey Howe, hugging a missile (L&F/191).

6. A poster for a 'Troops Out of Ireland!' demonstration, which took place in London on the 12 August 1979. The poster features a drawing of an individual in a gas mask and riot helmet; drawn by Peter Fluck (L&F/228).

7. Two copies of a poster advertising a P.G. Wodehouse book boxset, published by Penguin Books (L&F/254).

8. A souvenir poster published by Socialist Worker/Radical Wallpaper, which features representations of Prince Charles and Princess Diana on their wedding day. Prince Charles is shown holding a box of fish fingers and there is the caption: 'Let them eat fish fingers.'

9. Two proofs containing sets of images for Clouded Tiger Cards postcards, which feature both Roger Law and Luck & Flaw plasticine model illustrations, which have previously been published in various outlets. Individuals represented include: Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Elvis Presley.

10. A very large photograph featuring the illustration, 'National Front,' which has the far-right figures, Martin Webster and John Tyndall, dressed as nazis and marching alongside Adolf Hitler (L&F/173).

11. A large photograph featuring an illustration of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, which was previously published in the magazines Stern and Panorama (L&F/193).

12. A large, mounted photograph that features an illustration of Margaret Thatcher, depicted as a question mark, which was published on the front cover of an issue of New Statesman (L&F/234).

13. A large group photograph of Roger Law, Peter Fluck and Steve Bendelack at their Victoria Hall Studio, in Cambridge, which is titled 'The Start of Spitting Image.' This image accompanied an article on Luck & Flaw in a 1983 issue of Crafts (L&F/279).

The photographic images found on these items have been taken by Bob Cramp, John Lawrence Jones, Brian Morris, Red Saunders, and Phil Sayer.
