British Petroleum Calendar, 1964
Scope and Contents
A British Petroleum Festivals '65 calendar. Each month features artwork and a written section, which relate to a particular festival held in the British Isles, including: Helly Aa in the Shetland Isles, Eisteddfod in Wales, and Pitlochry Fesitval in Scotland. The calendar page for September is illustrated by Roger Law, featuring a woodcut print design of German composer, Johann Sebastian Bach, and an organ. Accompanying the artwork is a short written passage by British composer, Benjamin Britten, advertising a Bach music festival in Long Melford, Suffolk.
The artworks and their accompanying written sections all appeared in advertisements throughout 1964, featuring in major publications.
