The Observer Magazine, 1963 - 1966
Scope and Contents
A file containing two issues of the British newspaper supplement, The Observer Magazine, along with a tearsheet from another issue. Also present is a newspaper cutting from an issue of The Observer Weekend Review. All items contain illustrations by Roger Law. The following are present:
1. A cutting from the 22 September 1963 edition of The Observer Weekend Review, which features a woodcut print depicting Pope Pius XII (RL/Pre-/1137).
2. 20 June 1965 issue - pages 21-23 contain pencil illustrations, which accompany the story, 117 Days, written by Ruth First (RL/Pre-/790).
3. A tearsheet from the 10 October 1965 issue, containing pages 28-29, which feature coloured pencil illustrations of the stereotypical characters found in the Western genre of film (RL/Pre-/750).
4. 15 May 1966 issue - pages 51-58 contain pencil drawings, which illustrate the story, View From the Bench, written by Sybille Bedford (RL/Pre-/786).
