Scope and Contents

A file containing one issue of the fortnightly magazine, Queen, along with tearsheets from a number of other issues from that publication; all of which contain illustrations by Roger Law. The following issue and tearsheets are present:

1. Tearsheets from the 10 April 1962 issue, containing pages 77-80, which have the Sir Roy Welensky - The Whole Hog prints that illustrate the article, Where the Dark Waters Meet, written by James Cameron (RL/Pre-/817-818).

2. 24 April 1963 (The Royal Wedding Issue) - pages 3-6 contain three woodcut prints, which illustrate the article, On the Street Where We Live..., written by Dennis Hackett (RL/Pre-/932).

3. A tearsheet from the 28 August 1963 issue, containing page 25, which has an illustration that accompanies the article, The Money-Changers in the Temple, written by Diana Mallory (RL/Pre-/1062).

4. Tearsheets from an April 1964 issue, containing pages 55-58, which has an illustration that accompanies the article, Lord Bedding's Report on Sex and the Upper Classes (RL/Pre-/1074).

5. Tearsheets from the 2 December 1964 issue, which contain an illustration by Law and Deirdre Amsden that accompanies the article, Food You Can't Afford to Miss (RL/Pre-/1076).

6. A tearsheet from the 10 February 1965 issue, containing pages 23 and 24, which have illustrations that accompany the article, The Many-Faced Men, written by Claud Cockburn.

7. Tearsheets from the 24 March 1965 issue, containing pages 65-70, which feature illustrations that accompany the article, The Takers, written by John Lyle (RL/Pre-/791, 795, 1028, 1066 and 1067).

8. Tearsheets from an unidentified issue containing pages 86 and 87, one of which has a printed image that illustrates the article, Wines Your Butler Needn't Be Ashamed Of, written by Cyril Ray (RL/Pre-/792).

9. A tearsheet from an unidentified issue, containing page 78, which has an illustration that accompanies the story, Slippers Will Be Worn, written by William Trevor (only the illustration is present; RL/Pre-/1069).

10. A tearsheet from an unidentified issue, perhaps from 1963 or 1964, containing page 78, which has an illustration that accompanies an extract taken from a book by Mary McCarthy (RL/Pre-/1070).
