Scope and Contents
William Smethe of Wetyng, clerk, and William Attemere of Brandoneferi to Peter, Prior of St Thomas the Martyr, Bromhill, and the canons there. This document concerns a fishery in Bernham, Suffolk, enclosed, with the access way to it which is 16 feet in width, with free access and egress and all rights and easements, formerly belonging to William de Hoo of Bernham. They are to hold it in free, pure and perpetual alms, of which the document provides a warranty. Witnesses named are: Ds John Plays, knight, John de Thelnetham, Bartholomew de Busschebrok of Bernham, William de Busshebrok, John de Aula, Richard Drynkemylk, John Reynald of the same, and others. Document ratified at Bernham on the Sunday of the Feast of St Denis (October the 9th).
