Scope and Contents
The estate papers of the College are the largest collection within the archive, and are kept in their original pyxides in the Muniment Room. The Muniments relate to the College's Manors, Ecclesiastical livings, and Estates bought or gifted over the centuries. They were first catalogued in the 18th century by Adam Wall, a Fellow of the College, and this catalogue is substantially the same, although it has been added to in the 20th century and typed up in 2020.
The fullest catalogue is available at -https://www.christs.cam.ac.uk/sites/default/files/inline-files/Muniments_Inventory_List_Typed_March2021.pdf .
The item level entries will be added to ArchivesSpace in due course, but this initial outline list of estates for which the College holds material is an interim measure.

Biographical / Historical
The muniments were first catalogued in the 18th century by Adam Wall, a student and then Fellow of the College until his death in 1798. Where possible, the original references have been kept with a prefix of MR and the omission of Drawer numbers, as they were partly rearranged in subsequent years. It has been decided not to renumber according to current archival practice for time constraints and also continuity.
