Geoffrey Martin, with whom Peck corresponded regularly, was a Fellow-Commoner of Christ's College, an Egyptologist and Honorary Keeper of the College Archives. Geoffrey Martin was Field Director of the Cambridge Expedition to the Valley of the Kings, and was known for his discovery of the tomb of Maya, Tutankhamun's treasurer as well as of the tomb of Horemheb.
