Biographical / Historical

Arthur Peck (1902-1974) was a classicist and known for the translations he published of Greek biological works. He was also a founding member of the Cambridge Morris Men. Educated at the Perse School, he served on the school's Board of Governors for many years. A Fellow of Christ's College (1926-1974), he taught Ancient Philosophy at Cambridge University and served as Librarian of Christ's College between 1945 and 1971. Amongst his other roles and duties, he was President of the College Musical Society, President (for a time) of the National Society of Morris Men, and served as sub-deacon at the Anglo-Catholic church of Little St Mary's in Cambridge.
