The Papers of Denis Kelly
The papers mainly consist of Kelly's recollections of his work for Churchill, in the form of memoirs and other papers, taped interviews, and in correspondence, particularly with Churchill's official biographer, Sir Martin Gilbert. There is also a small amount of correspondence dating back to Kelly's time as Churchill's literary assistant and two volumes of Winston Churchill's, "The Second World War" heavily annotated by Kelly, presumably for his own abridged version of these volumes.
The Papers of Sir William Deakin
The collection largely comprises research papers, particularly about Yugoslavia [now Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia] during the Second World War, 1950s-1990s. In addition, a small number of papers concern Deakin's work on "Marlborough: His Life and Times", mainly consisting of typed transcripts of letters and documents used in research, and on Churchill's history of the Second World War.

Letter from WSC (2 Sussex Square, London) to W Bernau [of Cox and Company] informing him that "considerable progress" is being made [on the renovation of Chartwell] and that he will need to write cheques for 2,000 pounds. He discusses an extension of his overdraft and payment of 8,000 pounds he anticipates from the second volume of his book ["The World Crisis"] and the possibility of selling some stock. Letter from WSC (Chartwell, Westerham, Kent) to W Bernau of Lloyds Bank marked "confidential" on his finances including: an extension of his overdraft; his estimate of his expenses until 15 November (totalling 3,780 pounds) and forthcoming payments; the amounts due from articles he intends to write; his intentions regarding the sale of shares; and a request for a letter of credit for 500 pounds to cover his tour in Canada and the United States.
