162 x 90 mm. A formal group portrait of the officials present at the 1932 durbar held at Sri Menanti, palace of the Yang di-Petuan Besar at Seremban. The figures in the group are: [?] Al-Mutasim Billah al-Sultan ABDULLAH (d 1932); Sultan of Pahang circa 1918-1932. Brysons caption identified this figure as Sultan Ahmad, but this is surely incorrect: Sultan Ahmad (circa 1881-1938) had ruled Pahang since 1865. The protrait is signed, and dated November 18 1936, and the Sultan wears the order of the K.C.V.O. (Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order) with which he was presented in October 1936 during a trip to England for his health.
