Scope and Contents

A three-colour glazed stoneware condiment set modelled by Luck & Flaw, which are in the representation of the members of the American comedy troupe, The Marx Brothers. The salt shaker is in the form of Chico Marx, the pepper shaker is in the form of Groucho Marx, and the mustard pot is in the form of Harpo Marx.

The manufacturer of the set is unknown.

Three painted latex foam and chamois leather masks, made by the Spitting Image Workshop for the Spitting Swanns Limited theatrical production of Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf symphonic tale. These masks are in the representation of the members of the American comedy act, The Marx Brothers: Chico, Groucho and Harpo. These masks were used as ornamentation in the theatre-setting for the production (SI/373 (a to c)).
