These drawings all feature artefacts excavated in the nineteenth century by Schliemann and Stamatakis at Mycenae and registered as groups under single registration numbers at the National Archaeological Museum, Athens.

Four original pencil and gouache watercolour drawings by Piet de Jong of ceramic vessels from Mycenae Champer Tomb 518, Kalkani South Bank.
AJBW's annotations include a number in blue pencil within a blue circle, tomb number and an - excavation? - number in brackets, a photographic slide reference number prefeced with the letter 'C.' and various other numbers with a now unidentifiable purpose.

AJBW annotations on the verso with a description of the subject and a Figure letter for publication - either created for the unpublished 'Helladika' or another as yet unidentified published tome. AJBW also added the museum number for objects in the collection of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Often the scale is noted too.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: Typescript and manuscript versions of chapters of the unpublished work Helladica, authored by AJB Wace and Carl Blegen, arranged by Elizabeth French in the early 2000s into chronological order of writing. The texts progress from the original title, 'The Pottery of Mycenae', which dates to arpund 1918, to the revised title of 'Helladica', which was probably introduced during the late 1920s.
