Ch Goldrei, Foucard and Son Ltd

 Organization

Biography

Charles Foucard & Son was established in London in 1832 as an importer of eggs, butter and poultry. The business was acquired by Charles Goldrei in 1911, becoming Ch. Goldrei, Foucard & Son, and expanding its business into the importation and distribution of shell eggs, frozen eggs, butter and poultry. From 1930 the company moved into the field of bakers' and confectioners' sundries. It was incorporated in England as a private company on 29 December 1942, and became a public company on 4 January 1946. Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, Shanghai, shipped frozen and desiccated eggs from the Ewo Cold Storage Co. to Ch. Goldrei, Foucard & Son on joint account, and sold them shell eggs outright, then on joint account.
