Biography

Nippon Yusen Kaisha was formed in 1885 from the merger of the Mitsubishi Mail Steamship Company and Kyodo Unyu Kaisha. The company merged with Mitsubishi Shipping Co. Ltd in 1964 to form the NYK Group. The modern company, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, is a part of the Mitsubishi Group.
