 Organization

Biography

The Canadian Pacific Railway Company (subsequently Canadian Pacific Ltd) created its first fleet of ships in 1887 to provide a trans-Pacific service. In 1891 the company formed the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company for its shipping operations. The company was renamed as Canadian Pacific Steamships Ocean Services Ltd in 1915, and as CP Ships in 1971. It separated from Canadian Pacific Ltd in 2001 to become an independent company, and merged with TUI AG in 2005.
