Scope and Contents

The minute books include the date and location of meetings, details of members in attendance (ordinary and honorary), titles and details of papers read, accounts of discussions and elections, and details of arrangements made for social activities and excursions. Many of the minute books from the 1920s include printed cards listing the talks and speakers for the entire academic term. Some volumes include letters from members or their families.

Conditions Governing Access: From the Fonds: The papers are open for consultation by researchers using Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences. Some scrapbooks are damaged and access is now restricted. The Collections Research Centre [West Cambridge] is open from Monday to Friday, 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00. A prior appointment made at least two weeks in advance, and two forms of identification are required.
