About:
The collections of the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences fall into several categories: records relating to museum administration, specimen collections, and projects (major exhibitions and gallery displays). These include catalogues, correspondence, photographs and reports. There are also personal and professional papers of geologists, mineralogists and petrologists, including the field notebooks of Adam Sedgwick. The records of 'The Sedgwick Club' are also part of the collections.

Visiting Us
Members of the public are welcome to visit the Archive. We offer:
• Free car parking on site
• Full access for wheelchair users (lift to all public areas)
• WiFi internet access
• Kitchen and rest area
• Café facilities nearby
Appointments
It is necessary to make an appointment to use the material (at least two weeks in advance) as some periods may be restricted owing to prior bookings, special events, and the availability of staff. Please contact the Archivist to make an appointment, or if you would like further information about the collections before planning a visit.
Users will be required to sign an application form to say that they will follow the rules and safe handling guidelines in place, and adhere to Copyright Law(s). One form of identification is required.
Opening Hours
• Monday-Friday 10am-5pm.
• Closed weekends, Christmas and Bank Holidays.
The Archive may be closed at other times so please contact staff before making a visit.
