The Close was granted to Wendy by letters patent of 15 Jan. 1549 (2 Edward VI) and lies between the garden of Pembroke Hall (S) and a lane called Long Lane and a curtilage or barn of CCCC (N) and abuts (E) partly on Swynescroft and (W) on the lane leading to St Thomas leys and foimed part of the possession of the chantry of St Mary.
