Letter from Edmund Courtenay Pearce to William Greenwood, vicar of St Bene't's, concerning liability for restoration of chancel decorations., 1922-11-12
Pearce cites a college order of 16 February 1883 giving permission for the decorations on application of the 'St Bene't Restoration Committee'. From this he deduces that the college is not reponsible for the decoration of the chancel but only for its external condition; he rejects the suggestion that the subscribers to the project were undergraduates rather than parishioners,.
