Scope and Contents From the Series: The rectory of St Mary Abchurch was procured by Archbishop Parker from the Queen, in exchange for the rectory of Penshurst, Kent. After the fire of London in 1666, when both churches were destroyed, the curacy of St Lawrence Pountney was annexed to it. Scope and Contents From the Fonds: Among other benefactions Tenison bequeathed to the college a sum of £1000 which he had lent to Robert Clarke of St Ives, Hunts., on a mortgage on an estate there. The mortgage was finally redeemed by Lady Hatton, in 1791, and the £1000 vested in 3 per cent consols. From 1715 until 1791 the lands were in the possession of the college, and a separate set of accounts kept. The property had passed from Archbishop Parker to his son John and thence to Sir George Paul; Josias Horne and his wife Frances and John Parker's son Matthew also acquiring parts of the property. The college sues Sir George for £60 arrears in payment of the annuity. Sir George countersues.

The writer confirms the opinion of A. Oswald (see next). He considers that the glass dates from the very early 16th century, or earlier, and is undoubtedly Flemish. He supposes that it was acquired by Wilkins specifically for the chapel and disposed of other pieces in private houses, e.g. Lensfield House, and King's College Memorial Chapel.
