This is probably the Homtini Pass on the Upper Road to George the building of which was largely due to the determination of Henry Barrington (1808-1882) a farmer and landowner near Knysna.

The train climbs 1650 ft in 15 miles from George. This photo was taken after we had gone about 8 miles from George, which keeps on coming into view as the train goes up the mountain.
