A group at 'Geneva', 1900 - 1903
81 x 82 mm. Showing three women in a garden. Geneva was a large estate in the south of Dominica owned by the Lockhart family. Those pictured are, from left to right: Miss Brenda Lockhart, Mrs Lockhart and Miss Jane Woodcock. Miss Brenda Lockhart never married, helped run the estate. She was the twin sister of Minna who was the mother of the author Jean Rhys. Mrs Lockhart was Brenda and Minna's mother and Miss Jane Woodcock was Mrs Lockhart's sister (Rhys 1979, pp 33-38).

The original articles of capitulation of Dominica and St Kitts and a petition from the inhabitants of the latter, with two further copies of each document. The papers are in French, and are accompanied by an undated one-page note describing their contents.

Godber, Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and his Private Secretary; some leading political figures are also shown. Building near Hillsborough Estate Factory, 1896 - 1897
72x78mm. View of a dilapidated building situated next to the main factory and also visible in Y307H/22. This barn-like construction has stone walls with a central doorway flanked by two further arched entrances and a pitched and tiled roof. Precise function unknown, but possibly the packing shed seen in Y307H/56.
