Scope and Contents 246 x 168 mm. A view looking down the Residency Hill along rows of Chinese houses with atap roofs, with scrubland beyond and jungle in the distance. A note on the reverse of the print indicates that the houses are probably those running along Main Street. By the end of 1874 Taiping had a population of around 5000.
