Sergeant Küne (1893), who had served under Stühlmann in the march round the lake to meet Emin at Bukoba, kneels behind a machine gun at the left of the print; Lieutenant (Dr) Franz Stühlmann (1863-1928) in command of the force himself stands at the right of the print.

Sotik natives, 1889-10-02
Showing a group of Sotik men, women and children posing in a row for Gedge. His diary for that day records: 'The people of the villages near came in with food. The men danced a v. pretty dance and sang really musically. Some of the young women were naked, others had only an apology for an apron in the way of strings of beads and leather. Took a couple of photos'. Gedge also records that the plates were developed on October 4th. Duplicate of Y30468K/24.
Southern African tour, 1948 - 1950
Forty-five black and white photographs relating to the Aid tour of 1950. There are 27 captioned portrait photographs of the members of the tour party taken c. 1948-1950. The remaining images comprise group pictures and scenes from the schoolboys' time in Africa, some labelled and dated, including two mounted on card. There is an accompanying manuscript list of names.
