Quarter-plate (landscape format). Chrysopotitisa Church near Paphos. In the foreground I have placed a nougani, one of the sleighs for the threshing floor, so that you may see the way in which the chipped flints are set on the underside to cut and tear the straw.

The caption on the reverse of the photograph reads: 'Peristerona Church of St. Barnabas and St. Hilarion, one of the most picturesque Byzantine (AD 956) buildings in Cyprus. The minaret next to it reveals the peaceful co-existence of the Greeks and Turks in Cyprus.'

Boosé, dated April 17 1900, gives some additional information about the photographs and promises further prints 'if these are of any use'.
