Note Church of St. Barnabas in distance, near which is said to have been found the body of St. Barnabas, buried clasping the M.S.S. of one of the gospels. This relic, being taken to Constantinople at the time by the archbishop, obtained the independence of the Church and various privileges from the Emperor Zeno.
