In her diary Wilson wrote: 'Then back to the steamer whose decks are being cleared of the motley crowd of sellers of parrots, deck chairs, white embroidery and photographers, and who still float round in their little green boats holding up their wares in the hopes of a last bargain' (Nov. 3rd 1901).
