Scope and Contents From the File:

The majority of these were taken in the north of the province; at Magoebaskoof (two visits); Tzaneen (including a sequence showing sisal growing and processing); Vendaland in the extreme north and a few coming south to Orhigstad and Graskop. A group taken at Mala Mala camp is assumed to be in the Transvaal, though the precise location has not been found. The section concludes with a visit to a fishing lodge at Dulstroom in December 1969.

They were originally included in a folder published by the Fleetway Press and containing a collection of catalogues and other booklets on the Exhibition, but have been transferred to the Postcard Collection.

Scope and Contents An album recording the visit of Lord and Lady Hewart to South Africa. The album is inscribed 'To Lord and Lady Hewart: A Momento [sic] of a Trip to South Africa'. It was presumably the work and gift of a friend who travelled with them as it covers the entire journey from leaving Southampton to their return. Scope and Contents The collection consists of a negatives album, produced by Lennon Ltd., Cape Town, containing 125 x 95 mm negatives and an envelope with six further negatives of the same size. Some are poor photographs but many that are apparently very faint contain a good deal of detail. Seven modern prints have also been made and are listed as Y305U/105-111. The images were taken by Albert Ernest Lamb and the captions are from the list in the front of the album. The captions have been used as titles...
