145 x 95 mm. Byng served as Governor-General of Canada from 1921 to 1926. The dating of the photograph is unclear, since it bears two dates on the reverse, 28 June 1925 and 1926. 'Farewell' has also been inscribed, suggesting that the latter date for the event may be correct, since Byng's term ended in 1926, and it may have commemorated his departure.

Half-plate (landscape format). Engraved on barrel: The gift of Major General James Wolfe to Captain Samuel Holland, 1759. Just before his death on the battlefield Gen. Wolfe verbally bequeathed all his camp furniture to his aide de camp, Capt. Holland. These pistols are now in possession of James E. Welsh Esq. of Charlottetown, P.E.I. to whom they came through his sister marrying the grandson of Major Samuel Holland (Fisher).
