Scope and Contents

Half-plate (landscape format). Engraved on barrel: The gift of Major General James Wolfe to Captain Samuel Holland, 1759. Just before his death on the battlefield Gen. Wolfe verbally bequeathed all his camp furniture to his aide de camp, Capt. Holland. These pistols are now in possession of James E. Welsh Esq. of Charlottetown, P.E.I. to whom they came through his sister marrying the grandson of Major Samuel Holland. Another view with engraving of Queen Charlotte on the right (Fisher).
