William Lanny [sic], 1866
185 x 179 mm. A full-faced portrait of William Lanne looking to one side of the camera. Lanne for many years worked on whaling ships out of Hobart Town and died in February 1869 of cholera contracted on his return from a whaling voyage. For further information on his life see Bonwick, pp. 394-95.
