A view looking down Bridge Street towards the Domain gates from George Street. On the right hand side of the street can be seen the ornate stone façade of the North Queensland Insurance Co.'s building (later the Burns Philp building), the Royal Exchange, the Lands Office, and in the distance the Chief Secretary's Office (now Department of Works).

Bridgewater on the Adelaide and Melbourne Railway, 1890
260 x 200 mm. A view across country, with two stone houses in foreground. Bridgewater is 23 miles by rail east of Adelaide in the Mount Lofty Ranges. In 1850 the district was one of the chief wheat growing areas in South Australia, and in 1852 a watermill was built by John Dunn, who named the town; the mill can be seen on the left below the large white building.

Photograph by George P. Wright. Another print of the same photograph occurs in Y3085C/7. It is likely that all the Brisbane photographs are by Wright, although only Plates 190, 191 and 198 are positively identified.
